1.Hooch tragedies are deaths caused by methanol poisoning from consuming contaminated or illegally produced alcohol. Methanol is a highly toxic form of alcohol, and ingesting even a small amount can be fatal.

Methanol is an industrial alcohol that is sometimes added to bootleg liquor, or "hooch," to increase its potency. 

Methanol is much cheaper than ethanol, the type of alcohol found in beverages like beer, wine, and liquor. 

However, methanol is metabolized into toxic substances that can damage the organs, especially the brain, eyes, and liver.

Symptoms of methanol poisoning can include:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Abdominal pain

• Headache

• Confusion

• Blurred vision

• Seizures

• Coma

• Death

Here are some ways to prevent methanol poisoning:

• Only drink alcohol from licensed sources.

• Avoid homemade or illegally produced alcohol.

• Be aware of the dangers of methanol poisoning.

• If you experience any symptoms of methanol poisoning, seek medical attention immediately.

According to a list of methanol poisoning incidents, tragedies due to methanol poisoning have been reported globally, but especially in regions with high rates of poverty and limited access to safe and legal alcohol. 

 These tragedies highlight the importance of public education about the dangers of methanol poisoning and the need for stricter regulation of alcohol production and sales.

2.नोमैडिक एलीफेंट : भारत-मंगोलिया संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास नोमैडिक एलीफेंट का 16वां संस्करण आज विदेशी प्रशिक्षण नोड, उमरोई (मेघालय) में शुरू हुआ।

यह अभ्यास 03 से 16 जुलाई 2024 तक आयोजित किया जाना है।

पिछला संस्करण जुलाई 2023 में मंगोलिया में आयोजित किया गया था।

अभ्यास का उद्देश्य संयुक्त राष्ट्र अधिदेश के अध्याय VII के तहत उप-पारंपरिक परिदृश्य में आतंकवाद विरोधी अभियान चलाने के लिए दोनों पक्षों की संयुक्त सैन्य क्षमता को बढ़ाना है। अभ्यास अर्ध-शहरी और पहाड़ी इलाकों में संचालन पर केंद्रित होगा। अभ्यास के दौरान सामरिक अभ्यास में आतंकवादी कार्रवाई का जवाब देना, एक संयुक्त कमान पोस्ट की स्थापना, एक खुफिया और निगरानी केंद्र की स्थापना, एक हेलीपैड/लैंडिंग साइट की सुरक्षा, छोटी टीम का प्रवेश और निकासी, विशेष हेलीबोर्न ऑपरेशन, घेरा और तलाशी अभियान के अलावा ड्रोन और काउंटर ड्रोन सिस्टम का उपयोग आदि शामिल हैं।
