1 .The collaborative efforts of C-DAC and VNIT Nagpur are bringing indigenous wireless charging for electric vehicles closer to reality, with a system capable of charging 90 percent of an EV battery in approximately three hours. This 1.5kW wireless charger, designed to operate on a standard 230V AC supply, utilizes advanced Silicon Carbide-based MOSFETs and incorporates essential safety features.

The technology has been transferred to M/s Global Business Solution Pvt. Ltd. for commercialization, marking a significant step towards enhancing EV charging infrastructure in India.

Supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology through the National Mission on Power Electronics Technology, this development promises to make EV charging more convenient and efficient for consumers.

2 .Samudra Pradakshina is a landmark maritime expedition, a tri-services all-women circumnavigation sailing venture undertaken by the Indian Armed Forces to showcase "Nari Shakti" and champion gender parity in maritime activities.

This 55-day voyage, flagged off from Mumbai on April 7th, 2025, sees a 12-member crew from the Army, Navy, and Air Force sailing the IASV Triveni to Seychelles and back, covering approximately 4,000 nautical miles.

Beyond demonstrating the crew's resilience and courage, the expedition serves as a preparatory phase for a planned global circumnavigation in 2026 and pays homage to India's historic warrior queens.

The expected conclusion of this significant expedition is May 30th, 2025.

3 .The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) has launched a revamped Microdata Portal and the National Statistical System Training Academy (NSSTA) website, marking a significant advancement in India's statistical infrastructure.

The modernized Microdata Portal, accessible at microdata.gov.in, offers a centralized, secure, and user-friendly platform for accessing national survey and economic census data, built with a scalable technology stack in collaboration with the World Bank.

Simultaneously, the NSSTA website (www.nssta.gov.in) streamlines access to capacity-building initiatives and training programs.

Further demonstrating MOSPI's commitment to technological innovation, a Proof of Concept for an AI/ML-based classification tool was presented, aimed at simplifying the use of the National Industrial Classification (NIC) and enhancing the accuracy of official statistics.

These initiatives collectively underscore MOSPI's focus on improving data accessibility, user experience, and the integration of advanced technologies within the statistical system.
