2 . Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0)

(GS Paper II: Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations)

represents the Indian government's continued commitment to providing affordable housing in urban areas, building upon the foundations of the original PMAY-U scheme.

This expanded initiative strives to address the housing needs of one crore urban poor and middle-class families through a multi-faceted approach.

It encompasses four key components:

Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH), and the Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS), each designed to cater to diverse housing requirements.

PMAY-U 2.0 places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, prioritizing vulnerable groups such as slum dwellers, scheduled castes and tribes, minorities, widows, and persons with disabilities.

By offering interest subsidies on home loans and promoting sustainable, disaster-resilient construction,

the scheme aims to create affordable, quality housing solutions, contributing to improved living conditions and urban development across India.

3 .Divyangjan:

(GS Paper II: Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations)

The Indian government has established a comprehensive framework of schemes to empower Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), focusing on various aspects of their lives.

The Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids/Appliances (ADIP) scheme is a cornerstone, providing essential assistive devices to enhance independence.

Simultaneously, the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan) strives to create a barrier-free environment by improving accessibility in infrastructure, transportation, and communication.

Educational support is offered through various scholarship schemes, ensuring Divyangjan have equal opportunities for learning.

To address employment challenges, initiatives like Divyangjan Kaushal Vikas and Divyangjan Rozgar Setu focus on skill development and job placement.

Financial security is provided through the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), offering a monthly pension to those with severe disabilities.

Furthermore, District Disability Rehabilitation Centres (DDRCs) deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services at the local level.

These combined efforts aim to foster inclusion, independence, and empowerment for Divyangjan across India.
